This is the list that is being circulated:
Team LionStrike – NP Aerospace, GM Defence, BAE Systems with GM and Chevrolet base vehicles
Team Grenadier – INEOS Automotive, SMT Defence, NMS UK, now with with Hobson Industries and TVS Supply Chain Solutions
Babcock + Supacat – Toyota Land Cruiser 70 Series platform
Ford & General Dynamics Land Systems UK & Ricardo – The Ford Ranger/Ranger Super Duty
Team Wolf – Rheinmetall UK, Mercedes-Benz UK and RBSL – Merc G-Class base
Jaguar Land Rover – the new Defender Wolf Series II
Iturri – Landtrek vehicle
The Iturri seems an odd one, not mentioned before and has no UK footprint at all, so it might just be rumour.
Common sense would point to an established platform with a global service and parts supply network, so the Toyota Landcruiser, Ford Ranger and Merc G-class all tick that box. But when has common sense bothered this sort of process? It’s a significant contract for the winner, against a backdrop of stalling car sales this would be a shot in the arm for the successful tender.
The vehicles aren’t restricted to the UK of course, sales teams will be busy capitalising on the LMV selection to pitch their vehicles globally.
